Ways to Volunteer
Thank you for your interest in making a difference at Pickens County Board of Disabilities and Special Needs! Volunteers are at the heart of our community, helping create joyful experiences, supporting meaningful activities, and building genuine connections with the individuals we serve.
No matter your talents or interests, there is a place for you on our team.
Volunteers can make an impact by:
- Joining in our Day Program—leading or assisting with arts and crafts, drum therapy, games, and other creative activities
- Helping with Special Olympics events or cheering on participants as a volunteer coach or guide
- Supporting community outings—sharing experiences at local parks, museums, or events alongside the individuals we support
- Contributing to our Garden Project by planting, tending, and beautifying outdoor spaces
- Playing games, reading, or simply offering friendship and companionship to brighten someone’s day
- Serving holiday meals or pitching in for special celebrations and occasions
Volunteers from the Youth Leadership Academy (YLA)
Students from Daniel High School volunteered to help serve our Thanksgiving dinner!
